About this policy
PlateMate AI is a recipe, cooking, and meal-planning app provided by Michael Martinez. This policy explains the information used when you use its features.
Information you provide
Your account may include your email address, name, profile photo, and preferences. The app stores recipes, meal plans, saved ingredients, food photos, nutrition goals and logs, and content you choose to import. Only provide information you want processed for these features.
How information is used
Information is used to sign you in, save and retrieve your content, personalize recipe and meal suggestions, process imports, manage subscriptions, provide support, and maintain the service. Cooking feature events may be recorded through Firebase Analytics to understand feature use.
Service providers and AI features
Google Firebase provides authentication, database, file storage, analytics, and backend services. AI requests may send relevant recipe text, food images, preferences, and other inputs to OpenAI through our backend. Video and recipe imports may send the link you submit and related content to Apify and OpenAI for retrieval, transcription, and recipe extraction. Apple processes App Store purchases. We do not receive your payment card details. These providers process information under their applicable policies and service terms.
Photos, links, and permissions
Photos and camera access are used when you choose features that need them. You can change permissions in iOS Settings. Imported content may originate from third-party platforms whose own policies also apply. Do not submit private content or content you lack permission to use.
Storage and your choices
Account information and saved content are stored with our service providers. You can edit your profile and manage saved content in the app. Edit Profile includes an account deletion option. For deletion of remaining uploaded files or associated records, or for an access or correction request, contact us. Some records may remain where needed for security, transaction records, or legal obligations; this policy does not promise immediate deletion from all backups or third-party systems.
Subscriptions
Apple manages billing and subscription cancellation. Deleting an account or uninstalling the app does not itself cancel an Apple subscription. Manage subscriptions through your Apple account settings.
Children
PlateMate is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and address it.

Policy updates
We may update this policy as features or data practices change. The effective date on this page identifies the current version. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent.
